Porto Airport
Porto Airport is an international airport in Porto and an important gateway to Portugal, located 11 kilometers northwest of the city center.
It is also known as Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport, after Portugal’s 109th Prime Minister, who was born in Porto. The airport was refurbished in the early 2000s in preparation for the UEFA Euro 2004 tournament, which was hosted by Portugal and included Porto as a major city.
Finding a porto airport shuttle can be challenging, especially during the peak season, which runs from April to September.
To decrease travel stress, planning all airport transportation ahead of time is a wise decision that will allow you to spend more time enjoying your vacation.
Porto – the port – is Portugal’s second-largest city (after Lisbon) and the capital of the Northern region. In 1996, UNESCO designated its historical center, which was built around the Douro river estuary and is one of Europe’s oldest cities, as a World Cultural Heritage Site.
In Porto, all cabs are beige or black, and the roofs are green. Always check for a taximeter before getting into one, and make sure it is turned on when the taxi begins to drive.
Rates
A cab ride in the city center will cost between 4 and 6 euros on average. It costs about €20 to go from or to Porto Airport using this mode of transportation and porto airport taxi.
